Overall, I did see an slight increase in ball speed over the G430, but it was not drastic. The biggest difference was the ball speed retention and overall forgiveness; my dispersion was also better with the G440.Is it worth the upgrade? I think that is user dependent, the G430 was about 300 RPM spin lower. For those that need that spin reduction, i would lean G430. The best way I can describe the new G440 LST is if the G430 Max and LST had a baby, it would be the G440 LST."Tae in VA"I’ve played a handful of PING drivers over the years. I was fitted for a G400 Max in my first ever club fit. Played the G430 Max and the G430 Max 10k. The G440 is by far and away the winner in sound. It has a more lively face comparable to the Titleist GT3 or the TM QI 10 in feel and acoustics. When I middled a shot, the ball just seemed to rocket off the face. I prefer the cleaner top of the club now that have gone away from the dimples in the carbon wrap and the turbulators have been cleaned up ever so slightly and may be a shade smaller than the 430 lineup. I only had one range session with my 440 Max Ventus Red + 6S combo Will has built up for me but early returns are promising even with an off day with my swing. Shots out of the middle of the face felt unreal. Heel and toe shots while losing a bit of distance weren’t heavily punished directionally. I need more time with this combo, but I really do feel like this could be my best year yet driving the ball."Brian in WI"After playing a few rounds with the Ping G440 LST driver, I have to say I love it. It sits nice and square at address, which gives me some confidence on the tee. After trying a few different heads, it's pretty clear that the forgiveness, especially on those low strikes, is better on the new Ping440. In general I feel like the mishits on the new Ping carry just a little bit further and have a more predictable flight. I always liked Ping drivers for the forgiveness, but felt that it lagged behind with the ball speed. I feel like this new one has the best of both worlds. I was between the New Titleist GT series and this one.... glad I ended up with the G440 LST. I find it to be a good bit faster than the prior model. During my fitting here I found it to be much more consistent on shot shape, spin, and ball speed. The spin is in a great window and isn’t too low like I experienced with some other LST models in the past. I’ve had the chance to play it in a little colder weather and can say that I’m hitting it to spots that I was hitting more recent model drivers from other companies.
