Miura Golf’s TC-202 is a true evolution of the brand’s celebrated players’ cavity back irons. Refined Forging and Feel

Like all Miura irons, the TC-202 is forged to incredibly tight tolerances—just ±0.5g from spec. The heads are finished in satin chrome and offer a clean, compact look at address. The flight is strong and stable, and shot control is excellent across the bag. The irons do not balloon and they reward precise, confident swings. That said, they’re not built to correct wild misses. If you’re a high-handicap player, there are better options. But if you’re an improving player or a single-digit handicap looking to elevate feel and consistency, the TC-202 delivers on all fronts.

"I've had a chance to spend some time with the TC-202s at the range and on the course, and I can compare them to my gamer Titleist T150s and a "practice" set of Miura KM-700s. For context, I'm 62 years old and have been playing since I was 4. My current index is 11.6, but I'd rate my ball-striking as better than my index, mostly because I'm a year back after a 10 year hiatus from golf, and I get one range day and one round of golf per week. My 7 iron clubhead speed was hovering around 86, 87 mph at my last fitting.

The KM-700s are a set I use for range work because, despite what Miura and some reviewers say, they're blades and they act very much like that for me. They not only have very direct and accurate feedback as to where on the face I'm striking the ball, they will penalize me. I get immediate feedback in the form of ball flight and reduced distance if I miss that very blade-like sweet spot. That's useful when I'm trying to dial in my swing, but not something I want to take out on the course. Versus the KMs, the TC-202s offer an almost imperceptibly lesser amount of feedback and significantly more forgiveness. It's much easier to get the long irons near peak height with a less than perfect strike. I don't shot shape as a hobby, only when I need to. I'd give the edge to the KM-700s, but they should have it -- they're blades. That said, the TC-202s are more than capable -- I just need to add a little more "input" like I would with any cavity back versus a blade.

Versus the T150s: Inexplicably, the TC-202s are comparable to the Titleist tech for carry, land angle, and peak height, as measured by my eyeballs hitting them back-to-back at the range. This despite being a degree weaker in loft across the set and a single piece of forged steel. Go figure. They seem to be neck and neck on forgiveness (both heel/toe and low/high), with the TC-202s slightly ahead on feedback level. Most important: They’ve got that addictive Miura reward feel when you middle them. Not as firm as the T150s, but more solid, if that makes any sense. Makes me want to keep hitting balls like a lab rat hitting the button for another dose of nicotine. One of the things I like best about the T150s is their stability through the turf, especially if it's less than perfect or actual rough. I think it's a product of all that tungsten down low. The TC-202s are very similar in that regard, and a little better getting in and out of soft/wet fairways -- I'm pretty steep, so the y-grind is better for me."

It doesn’t try to be everything for everyone—but for the player who wants blade-like feel with added forgiveness, it checks every box.
